Login FAQs
When applying for your course you will have set up an account using your personal email address and a password of your choice. On receiving a course offer your account is switched to a Â鶹´«Ã½AV account with a new username and password. These are the same details needed to access CG Connect, MS Office 365 and college computers and printers.
What is my username?
Your username is your college ID followed by @coleggwent.ac.uk. Your college ID is an 8-digit number and is included in all your application correspondence.
Your username will look something like this – 12345678@coleggwent.ac.uk
What is my password?
Your password will have been sent to your personal email address.
Once you log on, you should change your password to something you’ll find easy to remember.
The first time you log on, you’ll be asked to set up multifactor authentication and password reset to keep your information secure.
I have forgotten my password
If you have registered for Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) you can use that to reset your password.
If you have not registered for SSPR, please
email passwordreset@coleggwent.freshservice.com using your personal email account and look out for the replies from the College Helpdesk
How do I sign up for self-service password reset?
If you have a Â鶹´«Ã½AV IT account, you can securely self-reset and change your college login password. This means you no longer need to rely upon the ICT team to change it for you; you can do it yourself from anywhere and at any time via a secure Microsoft portal. It is not mandatory for you to sign up for this service, but we do encourage you to make use of it.
In order to be able to reset your password, you must first register for the service. This involves registering your personal e-mail address and/or mobile phone number. This information will be stored securely on the Microsoft cloud. It will only be used for the purpose of password reset and you can opt out of the service at any time by contacting ICT. Your information will be kept in line with the College’s retention schedule.
Before you start you will need access the following:
- a personal email account – this cannot be your Â鶹´«Ã½AV email address
- access to a mobile phone
How to register
- Go to:

or visit:
- You will be asked to confirm your existing password – just to prove it really is you setting this up
- Follow the instructions on screen
How to reset your password
- Make sure you have access to the email account and phone that you initially registered with
- Go to:
/pwdreset
or visit:
- Enter your college email address (e.g. ABC01234@coleggwent.ac.uk) in the User ID field
- You will now go through a two-step verification process – follow the instructions on screen
Once your password has been reset, please remember that you’ll need to update your credentials in other areas e.g. CG Connect App, eduroam etc.
