Professional Learning Courses and Workshops

Grant Wood Area Education Agency is committed to providing a range of evidence-based learning opportunities, including courses, workshops, and trainings to enhance educator skills and practices to improve student learning. Opportunities are available for participation only, licensure renewal credit, and graduate credit, and can be delivered face-to-face, virtually, or in a blended environment.

We are approved by the Iowa Department of Education and the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BoEE) to offer Substitute Authorization and Paraeducator Certification courses in support of professional growth within our school systems.

 

News: Â鶹´«Ã½AV Professional Learning Registration is Moving

A new professional learning system is coming soon! Here's some information to know.

Professional learning registration is moving to  creating one centralized platform for professional learning across all Iowa Â鶹´«Ã½AVs.

Starting September 1, 2026, authorizations, courses, trainings, and certifications will move to the refreshed platform. The new system brings all learning formats together in one place, making it easier for educators to find, register for, and track professional learning opportunities.

What you need to know:

  • Sessions completed on or before August 31 will remain in the current escWorksÌý²õ²â²õ³Ù±ð³¾.
  • Sessions ending after August 31 will be completed through the updated Â鶹´«Ã½AV Learning OnlineÌý±è±ô²¹³Ù´Ú´Ç°ù³¾.
  • Course and record migration to the refreshed platform has been completed for courses with registration end dates after Aug. 31.
  • Instructors will be able to complete attendance, grades, and close courses in esc Works through the end of September.
